Melody Ayshay is a photographer and mixed media artist based in Baltimore, MD. She believes in the beauty and intimacy of everyday life and her work focus on capturing the intimate details of relationships and experiences through storytelling. She believes in the texture of life and thus expounds upon an image adding context and interpretation through screenprint, fiber, beading, and other textiles. She pulls inspiration from not only everyday living, but her work in public health and health equity, as well as her southern roots and love of being black. Her professional work focuses on her passion to integrate health equity and policy in public health programs and improve health outcomes of marginalized communities, particularly black women and girls. She is currently a graduate student at Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) in Social Design.
